Let’s make it
Step 1
Heat oven to 160°c. Grease 2 x 20cm round sandwich tins and line the bases with baking paper.
Step 2
Add MILKMAID, butter, sugar, eggs, flour mixed with baking powder, Vanilla into a mixing bowl, then beat with an electric whisk until smooth.
Step 3
Divide the mixture into 6 bowls. Pick any foodcolours and stir a little into each mix. Keep mixing.
Step 4
Pour the mixtures into the baking trays and smoothen the batter. Bake in the same oven shelf for 12-15 minutes until a skewer poked into the middle comes out clean.
Step 5
Gently turn the cakes out onto a wire rack to cool.
Step 6
Repeat the above steps twice for all 6 colours. Allow to cool.
Step 7
Add MILKMAID, butter, cream cheese, icing sugar and beat well.
Step 8
Beat cream cheese and icing sugar until creamy. Add butter and MILKMAID and mix well. Separately, beat the whipping cream softly and fold into the mixture.
Step 9
Smear a little icing on your cake stand or plate to stick the first sponge. Start with the red, then spread with some icing right to the very edge. Repeat, sandwiching on top the orange, yellow, green, blue and finally purple sponges. Spread the remaining icing thickly all over the sides and top of the cake.
