Let’s make it
Step 1
Add 3 tablespoons of sugar and 2 tablespoons of water into a small pan.
Step 2
Melt the sugar till golden brown.
Step 3
Butter the baking tray, pour the caramel in and let it set.
Step 1
Spread butter on each slice of bread and cut each slice into 4 pieces.
Step 2
Mix MILKMAID, eggs, and milk in a bowl.
Step 3
Line a layer of bread on a baking tray (preferably an 8x6 inch tray).
Step 4
Add some Plums and a layer of the MILKMAID mixture (make sure to create a thin and even layer using a tablespoon). Repeat this for all slices.
Step 5
Pour the remaining MILKMAID mixture on top and bake in an oven pre-heated to 150°C for 30 – 40 minutes till the top is golden brown.
Step 6
Optional: Decorate with cashew nuts or plums as preferred.
Step 7
Let it cool and serve.
